The EFCC responded to the allegation made by Zamfara state governor, Bello Matawalle, that its boss, Abdulrasheed Bawa, requested a $2 million bribe from him.

The commission stated that it will not engage in a war of words with a suspect. Governor Matawalle had previously claimed in a BBC Hausa interview that Bawa had solicited the bribe from him.

36-year-old Head teacher of Lonpe MA Primary School, Kwame Mensah, has gone viral after it was reported that he swam to school using a unconventional way of transporting himself to school when motorable means seem impossible.

Even though it’s typically quite difficult, he wakes up, gets dressed, and finds a way to school every day because he loves having an impact on students’ education.

Recently, the primary 1–6 teacher traveled a dizzyingly far journey to arrive at the school in time to instruct the students and says it is his passion to impact knowledge on the growing generation

He admitted that throughout his career as a teacher, he had changed schools frequently and that teaching in this area was both risky and frustrating.

“Teaching in rural communities is not an easy task especially as I have to swim across this river everyday to get to my school. My family is very worried.

“The pupils are at a huge disadvantage because I have to teach all the classes from basic one to six and this is stressful”, he said.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s TV3 posted a video of him swimming in the Dakar River on his way to school.
