President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration in the Federal Government has dismissed Capt Rabiu Yadudu from his role as the Managing Director of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
In line with this decision, the current Manager of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, Kabir Mohammed, has been appointed as the new FAAN managing director.
Kabir Mohammed is set to commence his duties in the following week. Prior to his appointment, Mohammed served as the Regional General Manager for the North Central region. In January 2022, he was also appointed by the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, as the Chairman of the Aviation Roadmap Implementation Committee, which he effectively managed alongside his position as the General Manager for Special Duties at FAAN. According to sources, similar changes are expected to occur in other agencies such as the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) and the National Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB).
The specific reasons behind Yadudu’s removal remain unclear at this time
