Rapper Tory Lanez locked in LA County jail for shooting Megan Thee Stallion

American hip-hop artist Tory Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, is currently being held in solitary confinement at LA’s infamous County Jail due to concerns about potential attacks from fellow inmates. This measure was taken as he commences his ten-year prison term for the shooting incident involving his former associate, Megan Thee Stallion.
As reported by Mail Online, prison authorities are closely monitoring Lanez by conducting checks on him every half-hour within the administrative segregation unit. This particular unit has previously housed notable individuals such as OJ Simpson and Danny Masterson, known for his role in “That 70s Show” and his subsequent criminal conviction.
During his sentencing, the 31-year-old rapper, Daystar Peterson, had appealed to Judge David Herriford for an alternative to traditional imprisonment, stating, “Give me some sort of alternative that is not prison.” However, his request went unanswered, and he now finds himself confined to a cell for 22 hours each day in the volatile and overcrowded correctional facility.
It’s important to note that Los Angeles County jails have been marred by a series of unfortunate incidents, including the deaths of at least 12 individuals since June 1. One such tragic event involved Joseph Hutchinson, who was fatally stabbed in Men’s Central Jail on August 4.
In light of these circumstances, Tory Lanez is also being closely monitored under suicide watch protocols. His restricted routine permits him to shower every other day, and he is granted a mere three hours per week for outdoor access within the jail premises.
