“We stumbled on certain suspicious things” Lagos State Police gives reason for ransacking Seun Kuti’s house

The Lagos Police’s justification for searching Seun Kuti’s home is that they “stumbled on some suspicious things in the course of our investigation.”
According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Command, police searched Seun Kuti’s home after allegedly finding some suspicious items.

The Afrobeat musician was detained and charged with assaulting a police officer on Lagos’ Third Mainland Bridge.

On Tuesday, police raided the musician’s home in Akin Osiyemi off Allen Avenue in Ikeja for a search and took his wife’s cellphone with them.

On Tuesday, May 17, the PPRO responded to a Twitter user who denounced the invasion, saying: “During our investigation, we stumbled on certain suspicious things that needed to be looked into.”
