A Young man was arrested in Nasarawa for killing a friend and stealing his Bike
Ezra Wadata, 23, was arrested by Nasarawa State Police Command agents for reportedly stabbing to death his friend Moses Maidoki and stealing his motorcycle.
On Friday, May 19, 2023, in an interview with Daily Trust in Lafia, the state capital, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the arrest.
Nansel claims that the suspect, who was residing in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja with his deceased buddy, Moses, committed the crime as a result of an argument that developed between them.
“However, after two weeks of settling the dispute, Ezra killed Moses and then stole his motorcycle, locking the body inside the house. After a few days, the neighbors in the neighborhood grew uneasy about the scent emanating from Ezra and Moses’ home. As a result, they went to the police in Kubwa, Abuja, and that is how they learned that Moses had been killed.
“On noticing that the police were after him, the suspect quickly sold the motorcycle in Abuja and ran to his village called Ninga, in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, where he was arrested by police officers in the state,” Nansel said.
After killing Moses with a knife in the Kubwa neighborhood of Abuja, Ezra Wadata fled to his hometown in the Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. According to the PPRO, the suspect has admitted to the crime, and the inquiry has started as ordered by Maiyaki Baba, the commissioner of police.
