A seven-year-old girl in Adamawa State identified as Angela David, was brutalised by a housewife named Maryam Mohammed, for failing to carry out domestic chores has been diagnosed with kidney enlargement
In May 2023, the Nigeria Police Force apprehended Maryam Mohammed after she brutally assaulted the seven-year-old girl, employing an electric cable as a weapon and causing significant injuries. Maryam’s anger was reportedly triggered by Angela’s inability to perform certain household tasks.
Initially, Angela received medical attention at Bakari Bole Clinic in Shagari low-cost, located in the Yola South Local Government Area. However, due to the severity of her injuries, she was subsequently transferred to the Specialist Hospital in the city. The results of the medical scan conducted on Angela revealed the enlargement of her right kidney, indicating the extent of the damage caused by the abuse she endured.
